The new Megabonus provides "double points" for your first three stays during the promotion AND up to 30,000 bonus points if you qualify.

This seems like one of the better promotions they have done. Nice to earn some bonus points from stay #1.

Agree?

Thanks so much! I didn't have any promotions showing and I received an error message when I clicked on the link above. Called Rewards Customer Service and I am now enrolled. It starts Jan 16. Lucky me, I already have a reservation for several days starting Jan 17 that will count as my first stay!

I only see double points but not the AND 30,000 bonus points for my promotion.

I had already registered. When I look at the promotion in my account, there is no mention of the 30,000 bonus. Maybe since I am only silver I am not eligible for the bonus points.

I've got a one week Marriott exchange coming up. I also have a home-resort stay coming up as well (1 week). I registered for this promotion. But I am not renting a Marriott hotel room. What will I get as part of this promotion?

Owner occupied weeks are excluded. I have checked on whether this includes Interval rentals in the past and was told those were excluded as well. Not sure why some people are not seeing the bonus points. Your reward level should not matter?

I'm (only) Gold in Marriott. Like you, I was already registered for the double points and there's no mention of 30,000 bonus points in my offer.

I don't see anything in either my or my wife's account about the 30K bonus. Realize these are targeted offers. I would think the bonus isn't offered to everyone, especially me with only a few stays a year. I personally like the free cat 1-4 certificate promos for every second stay Megabonus offers. Took full advantage of that last year. I suspect the double points will only be calculated off of base points (10 points per dollar) and not the additional points you earn as a silver, gold or platinum member.

Ours has the 30K bonus in it, but it is only for achieving the following: 15 paid stays after the first 3 stays earn 15K, the 1.5K for each of the next 10 stays. This is for people with lots of paid stays. We will never have that many paid stays during the period, since timeshare stays as owners or exchangers do not count. To me, this is therefore one of the poorer Megabonus offers we have seen. Like you dioxide, I like the ones where you earn a Cat 1-4 cert for every second stay.

Our 30,000 bonus is, "Earn double points on the first three stays; earn 15,000 bonus points when you stay 10 additional nights; then 1,500 bonus points each night after that up to 15,000."

Interesting.... I can earn up to an additional 45K in points.....

Earn double points on your first three eligible stays
  • Then, earn 30,000 bonus points when you stay 20 additional nights
  • Plus, earn 1,500 bonus points for each night after that — up to 15,000 bonus points (45,000 total bonus points)

But you don't get any of he 45,000 points unless you stay 20 nights. At 19 nights I would have accumulated 28,500. Lots of differences in the various offers.

Actually, you don't get those 45,000 points until you stay at least 23 nights. First three stays (could be more nights than just three) are double points, then the next 20 will get you the 45K. As Fasttr indicated, the carrot is on a real long stick.

Mine is double points on first 3 stays. No bonus, which is ok because I would probably never accomplish it anyway!

35,000 bonus points have already posted for my first stay. Yeah, I like this promotion.
Are you points from something else? What exactly is your promotion? I was not aware that they had 35,000 points after your first stay as a MegaBonus this year.

dioxide....I earned 35k base points on a stay at Mountainside. Plus 17k platinum bonus. Then they added another 35k for the double point bonus. 87k total.

I get double points for the first three stays. Here is the promotion I am signed up for:

  • Register by March 15, 2017
  • Stay at any of our 4,400+ participating hotels and resorts worldwide between January 16 and April 15, 2017
  • Earn double points on your first three eligible stays
  • Then, earn 15,000 bonus points when you stay 10 additional nights
  • Plus, earn 1,500 bonus points for each night after that — up to 15,000 bonus points (30,000 total bonus points)

Okay. That makes sense. So your spend at Mountainside was $3500 to qualify for the 35K base points.

Your situation is one for which the new promotion is terrific. For me , it is of very little value.
