This is a free sliver season(1-6,48-50) week at Marriott's Legends Edge in Panama City,FL. The week is part of the florida club, so you can also book during silver season at the Villas at Doral and also at Ocean Pointe(18-21,35-50 I believe) which is great benefit as you can deposit the lock off week from OP and get two deposits. Fees are $1400/year and the new owner is to pay the closing cost using the company of their choice.
Reason for giving away the weeks is I am continuing to help my parents divest of their timeshares as my dad has a severe health issue.
Any other questions, Please let me know.

This is a great week for booking silver season at Ocean Pointe which includes May and fall weeks. While Memorial Week and Thanksgiving may not be available at 6 months through the Florida Club, it is still a good time to visit Palm Beach. Marriott actually gives more DC points to Ocean Point owners for silver season than they do to gold season owners. That seems to indicate that silver season is a popular time there.

So, let me see if I understand how this work. After paying MF, you can reserve a silver week at OP have it unlocked and deposit both (studio and 1 bd) with II. Now you have 2 weeks to trade. Can you use that 1 bd to trade back into OP? Thanks.

Yes, you could use the 1BR or studio to try to trade back in to Ocean Pointe or any other property. Could even use it to trade back in to a 2BR at Legends Edge. Though the upgrade fee would apply.

Can you explain more about the Florida club and how that works?

Florida club allows you to book a reservation in the same season at the other Florida club resorts at 6 months out. For legends edge, the other resorts with silver season are villas at doral, beach place towers, and ocean pointe.

Is your unit a lock off 2 bedroom? I think there was a quote about a lock off.

Legends Edge itself does not lock off. But if you use it through the Florida Club to book Beach Place Towers or Ocean Pionte, you can lock off at those properties. There is an $80 fee to Marriott to lock off.

Exactly this. You can book at ocean pointe and lock it off if you choose. I currently have a late may week at ocean pointe booked for 2017 and it can be locked off if desired by paying the above mentioned fee(which is charged at any Marriott to lock off).

Keep in mind that this particular week being given away is a Silver Week, and Silver Weeks can only be exchanged thru the Florida Club via either Doral or Ocean Pointe (only 2 resorts in the Florida Club offer Silver Weeks besides Legends Edge).

With that said, you would only be able to book thru Ocean Pointe in order to obtain a Lock Off.

Once you did that, you could then make two deposits into Interval International and make exchanges to anywhere.

Thanks for pointing that out. I did know that but wasn't thinking of the seasons when writing my post. The only option to lock this week off, is, as you say at Ocean Pointe in silver season.

Is that true? I'm not doubting you but, How can it be that someone's gold week is worth less than a silver week. Seems crazy.

It is indeed true. Marriott allocated silver weeks more DC points than they did for gold.

2BR OF Gold Ocean Pointe - 3,425 DC points
2BR OF Silver Ocean Pointe - 3,825 DC points

It seems crazy, but you can see the full breakdown in Steven's spreadsheet.

The only crazy part is Marriott didn't get the seasons quite aligned with demand. If they did it over again there either wouldn't be a silver season like Oceana and Beach Place or it would be the weeks that Crystal Shores has for silver. May would be Gold and Nov/Dec would be Platinum.

People think Silver and stay away but Silver at Ocean Pointe is very valuable. I used to have two OF Silver units until I couldn't pass up the brokered resale prices, which has since come down. How much would it cost to buy D.C. Points in order to book two OF units for Thanksgiving? Over a $100,000 purchase plus a ridiculously expensive annual fee.

Resale list for silver used to be higher than gold but that changed around a year ago. I think too many Gold sellers complained and resales deemed it not worth it and flipped it.

No you don't even have to pay the maintence fee first. Marriott does not require prepaid fees in order to deposit and exchange. They are a wonderful exception.

Definitely a big plus for Marriott. With Vistana you have to prepay the MFs if you want to deposit in to II or borrower StarOptions from the next year. Really a pain.

Steve,

If no taker for that long, did you try to call Marriott resales dept and simply deed it back for free.

I think they take all weeks.

I would give it a try: 866-389-1458

Sam
