Has anyone ever heard of this company? They claim to have a $3500 deposit for someone that wants to buy my timeshare at Morritt's Tortuga Club for $19,700. They want me to release the unit to them and they will in turn within 72 hours send the money via certified check or direct deposit.
I find it unusual that the money does not change hands at the time of the release of the unit.

Smells like scam to me. I doubt there is a deposit. Nobody buys a resale for those numbers. At some point, they'll want money from you to 'continue to market' your timeshare. Then they will disappear and you will still own it. Just for fun, go to eBay and see what these weeks actually sell for.
