At a time of disaster Wyndham shows its true colors. Here I am a Wyndham timeshare owner and rewards member. Power has been out for days and I tried to book a room thru rewards. Could not use my rewards points because the system was down. Was able to pay $$$ to book the reservation. As we were booking the price was increasing. Got to the hotel yesterday and there was no power. Still advertising the rooms. Get to talk to someone today thru rewards and they are in India. Don't understand what is going on here. Booked the hotel again since it had power today . Stayed on the phone over an hour for them to try and book with my rewards points. Limited cell service and power out age and I have to wait on the phone to book 2 nights at Wyndham boca raton. And now to find out only booked for 1 night so I have to call again another hour on the phone, online booking with rewards doesn't work. They booked another room for us. Call the hotel and cant find the reservation. On the phone again with wrewards and they cant even find the reservation. But my points are used up. Another hour and they did communicate with the hotel but cant find the original reservation.

Asked to talk to owner care transferred to someone in Illinois, to ask how a company this big can have such failure. She told me we just went thru a hurricane . No kidding. She hung up on me...

Marriott seemed to know exactly what hotels did not have power. And was willing to book with free cancellation policy if I was able to get the room at Wyndham boca raton. Now that was customer service. Very nice lady said we are all in this together.

And to add insult to injury, I can book on extra holidays at ocean walk but not on wyndham owner site.

So this is what a wyndham membership gets you....

From you and some other posts, apparently. What is being said is not necessarily what is happening in Wyndhamland.

I would try to call Ocean Walk directly and try to make the reservation.
I know in the old system some resorts kept inventory for last minute travelers.
Ocean Walk probably had some late cancellations due to the hurricane and haven't shown back up online

I was able to get into the hotel room. Not complaining but booked an poolview and got the opposite. I'm just happy to have air. What I am disappointed with is the lack of compassion and the ability to use my membership in times like this. Limited cell phone and internet and power . To be on the phone for 2 hours to book 2 nights is unacceptable.

If only the websites would work properly this confusion would have never happened. I spent so much time going thru the resorts room by room to see availability.

I'm not going to defend Wyndham, but, many physical assets were damaged, technology became unsupported, community infrastructure was damaged/destroyed, and many employees from all walks of life were impacted by back to back natural disasters in our country. Much of Florida was evacuated and many resorts were in those evacuated/impacted areas. Most people in Florida are probably more interested in taking care of personal/family issues than they are in operating resorts right now. If you are able to find basic accommodations in Florida, right now, you should consider yourself very fortunate. If I were in Florida and did not absolutely have to be in Florida, I'd be looking to stay outside the damaged areas.
