hi not sure where to post this but I prepaid a car rental through Car Rentals.com from Priceless car rental in Orando. I have never rented from there before but have had rented through other small rental companies and had reasonable success. Not this time. I prepaid 280.00 US (I'm Canadian). When I got to the counter I waived their insurance because I'm fully insured with my company and had the documentation to prove it. They told me I needed to pay an extra 17 dollars a day because I'm Canadian. They said it was sent to me in my confeirmation email. I was ticked off I had not seen this and basically the price of the car was doubled. I got to my timeshare and reviewed my emails and nowhere does it say this insurance is mandatory for Canadians. I'm going to dispute the extra insurance charges with my credit card company. Not sure anything can be done at this point but any suggestions would be helpful.

This company is a bait-and-switch operation, yes it's a criminal operation so make sure you dispute the charges with the credit card company. Check yelp, they have a horrible rating and many people from all over the U.S. complain that they are forcibly up-sold insurance, toll transponders, etc. by these crooks, so it's not just Canadians getting scammed. You may want to post your story on social media to leave a stinky trail on these grifters.

Thanks for your reply. Yes unfortunately for me I checked Yelp too late. I'll know better for next time.
