I almost always prefer to walk to my next gate if only because I know I'm going to be riding in a cramped place. And when I have to change planes I definitely want to walk and stretch my legs. I only use the moving sidewalks if it's been a long trip and I'm exhausted.

But that was a fun video.

IMHO, our civilization took a step backward when we did away with big bins of fan-fold paper.

There are plenty of printers that will take a multiple reams of paper at a time -- you just have the wrong printer.

I can see lots of accidents in the terminal. Running into people, someone trying to ride it up or down an escalator, battery dying when least expected. Would be cool to see one in use, though. Next stop, Shark Tank.

Definitely something they could sell on QVC. Practical on my computer screen, but not so much in the real world. Sort of like that salami slicer scissors thing that can't possibly work as well as they claim.

Not the target buyer either. Purposely take walks around the airport to counter the long sits on a plane.

If the device weights 20 pounds, not many people who need it are going to be able to heft it into the overhead storage bin. I wouldn't be anywhere near where someone was trying to lower it. (Not sure about how many international airlines have a weight limit for carry on, but for Swiss Air it is seventeen and a half pounds. So someone who has this device would need to chuck the battery before boarding the plane.)

I don't think you will be allowed to use this in airports. There are lots and lots of options for getting through airports quickly (skateboard, scooter, heelys) and those are not allowed usually so I don't see this being allowed either.

Sure it might scan through security and fit in overhead but if you can't actually use the device as intended in the airport then it's not much use.

The problem with this is, the people that really need it probably can't use it because of flexibility, size or age. Those that are more able, don't need it since they can walk.

This product is mostly a joke. Not practical on so many levels and numerous solutions that would be better for the supposed "problem".

If you consider the uses of this type of product for other than air travel it could really be something. I could see this type of technology becoming very popular for use at colleges, universities, hospitals, tourist use and shopping.

Am pretty sure I have at least TWO Windows-over-DOS dot matrix printers in my garage. Banks still use them. A decent OKI in fairly good shape will still sell between $300 - $600, depending on the model. A good quality refurb will sell for over $1K. Go figure.

Sent that link to my DD. Ugh.... now she wants one!

And I've got one last box of dot matrix printer paper, "note paper". I had the printer, too, up until about a year ago. Indeed, they are still in use.
